This introductory course in geography, studies the nature of the earth's surface and mankind’s activities on it. It includes the study of the processes acting on the surface which collectively create the natural environment and human interrelationship with the environment. Specific reference will be made to the Caribbean region. The topics chosen will expose students to the interactions among climate, landforms, soils and vegetation; the growth and distribution of human population; the localization and spatial characteristics of patterns of settlement and land use.
